It is not that this place was deserted earlier. At one time a lot of people lived here. But now this place is deserted. Dhanushkodi is located between India and Sri Lanka. Which is the only terrestrial boundary between the two countries that is present on the sand mound in the Pakistani stiffness, which has only 50 yards in length. For this reason, this place is considered one of the world shortenth places. Here you can see the deep and shallow water of the Indian Ocean by meeting shallow and cool water of the Bay of Bengal.

People come to visit this special place during the day. But all people are sent back before night. Because walking here is absolutely forbidden. People return to Rameswaram before evening. Let us tell you that the path from Dhanushkodi to Rameswaram is 15 km long, this area is considered very mysterious. Many people consider this place to be ghost.

Dhanushkodi was a great tourist destination in India before the dangerous cyclone in 1964. During that time, there was a railway station, hospital, church, hotel and post office in Dhanushkodi. But the cyclone in 1964 ended everything. It is said that during this time a train with more than a hundred passengers was submerged in the sea. Since then this place has become deserted. There were also many hotels, clothing shops and Dharamshalas, which were destroyed by tsunami.

What is Rythological recognition

It is said that Dhanushkodi is the place from where Ram Sethu started construction above the sea. It is said that at this place, Lord Shri Ram ordered Hanuman to creating a bridge, on which the monkey army could enter Lanka. There are many temples related to Lord Rama in Dhanushkodi.

It is said that Lord Rama broke the bridge from one end of his bow after Vibhishan’s request. For this reason, its name became Dhanushkoti.
