Big accident in Mumbai, four passengers died

Four passengers died after falling near Mumbra station on Sunday morning from a local train, considered to be Mumbai’s ‘Life Line’. While nine injured passengers are undergoing treatment. Taking a lesson from the incident, the Central Railway has now announced to install automatic doors in all local trains like AC trains.
The Maharashtra government has announced a assistance of Rs five lakh each to the self-realization of passengers killed in the accident. The incident occurred around nine in the morning when the local train coming from Kasara came out of Mumbra station in Thane towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CSMT).
The Train was more full of Capacity
Due to the morning time, this fast train was filled many times more than its capacity. The passengers were hanging outwards on the open doors from both sides. On proceeding a short distance from Mumbra station, another train came on the track next to the same train from CSMT. Due to the intense turn there, trains on both sides started passing through the adjacent.
The bags hanging on the back of the passengers of both trains started colliding. In this hurry, eight passengers hanging from the door of the train going towards CSMT were left and they started falling down from the moving train. On going about two kilometers ahead, the passengers pulled the chain and stopped the train.

Five Passengers sent Jail
In this incident, five injured passengers hanging out of the door were sent to the hospital from Thane station. Whereas, after receiving information about the incident, passengers who fell from the train were sent to the hospital by ambulance. But by then four passengers had died.
Investigation of the reasons for railway accident
Expressing grief over the incident, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the railway administration is investigating the cause of the accident. Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that the incident highlights the need for congestion in the suburban railway system and serious attention to passenger safety. Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Ashde has said that a high -level railway committee will investigate the matter. If any guilty is found, strict action will be taken
